Technology

Midwest Academy is a multiple platform school. Laptops and iPads may be checked out for student use during school hours. Midwest offers Wi-Fi access throughout the facility as well as cloud-based email and storage accounts for each student’s academic work.

With the quickly evolving changes in mobility and easier access to technology, many students choose to bring their own laptops, tablets, electronic readers, or other mobile devices to use for academic purposes. We allow students to bring and use their own technology as long as it supports their academic endeavors and students follow relevant policies.

Due to the vast number of operating systems and devices that exist, Midwest can only provide tech support for school-provided devices and Wi-Fi services.

Students are responsible for their own devices should they choose to bring it to school.

Use of Personal Electronic Devices

Use of personal electronic devices (handheld video game devices, mobile phones, MP3 players, etc.) other than those required by a teacher are not permitted during class. Students in good standing are permitted to use personal electronic devices during lunch and break. If it is determined that an electronic device is being abused or misused, it will be confiscated for the remainder of the school day. If a student needs to contact a parent, or if the parent needs to contact their child during the school day, please contact the front office by calling 317-843-9500 for assistance.
