Giving to Midwest Academy

Making a financial contribution is one of the most significant ways you can make a difference in the lives of children who attend Midwest Academy. Your support, along with that of others, directly enhances each child’s education.

Like other independent schools, Midwest operates without financial support from local, state or federal governments. We depend on financial donations to fulfill our mission and promises, which, at its very core, provide students with learning style differences a progressive education environment fostering academic achievement, self-acceptance, personal growth and individual accountability.

HOW TO GIVE:

Please consider a gift that is meaningful to you. Every gift is important, and there are many ways to contribute.

Checks can be mailed or delivered to:

ADDITIONAL WAYS TO GIVE

Inspire Fund

Every year, parents, alumni, grandparents, alumni families, staff and friends of Midwest Academy help us close “the gap” between tuition and the actual cost of a Midwest education.

The Inspire Fund helps to:

  • ensure small class sizes with individual attention
  • offer an enriched curriculum
  • continue to attract and retain outstanding faculty
  • maintain a diverse student body
  • maintain and improve our facility

If you would like to discuss ways that you can invest in Midwest’s future with an Annual Campaign, or any other contribution, please contact Katie Erdmanis at kerdmanis@mymwa.org to talk or set up a time to meet.

Scholarship Granting Organization (SGO)

Midwest Academy has partnered with the Institute for Quality Education (IQE) which is a state-designated 501(c)(3) that provides financial needs-based scholarships to students enrolled in non-public schools. All of the scholarships that are awarded are funded by private donations, and the donor can elect to designate their gift to a certain school.

By donating to Midwest through the SGO, the donor’s donation qualifies for an INDIANA STATE TAX CREDIT of 50 percent and the balance is still eligible for a federal tax deduction.

Bequests and Planned Gifts

Recognizing Midwest Academy in estate planning benefits the school and can result in gift and estate tax savings to the individual. Some planned gifts provide lifetime income benefits to the donor. All bequests and planned gifts will help Midwest Academy provide students a progressive educational program for years to come.

Appreciated Securities & Stocks

Gifts of appreciated securities can be a tax-wise way to give. Gifts of stock allow donors to claim the fair market value of appreciated securities at the time the gift is made. For instructions on how your broker can transfer your stock, contact the Development Office for details.

Matching Gifts

If you participate in your company’s matching gift program, your gift to the school could be doubled or tripled. Obtain a matching gift form from your company, complete it, and return it to the Development Office.

Midwest Academy Annual Gala

Every fall, we gather to celebrate Midwest and raise money for its scholarship fund and other specific needs. Dinner, Silent Auction and other activities are included.
