Algebra II

Algebra II reviews the basic skills for linear functions and includes nonlinear functions such as quadratic, logarithmic, exponential, and rational functions. Algebra helps us solve problems efficiently. We will work with problems with a variety of structures. Focus is on everyday problems, applications, and open-ended questions. Students will investigate and discuss patterns, relationships, and problem-solving strategies in order to relate concepts and procedures to situations within mathematics and the real world. Major topics include: relations and functions, linear and absolute value equations and inequalities, quadratic equations and functions, polynomials, rational expressions, logarithmic and exponential functions, sequences and series, mathematical reasoning and problem solving.
