English Language Arts – Group B

English B students learn to better understand how to recognize and move beyond life’s obstacles through the study of literature connected to the themes of Originality and Overcoming Difficulties. Students apply foundational reading skills, such as word identification and reading fluency. They learn comprehension strategies, such as predicting, summarizing, questioning the text, and visualizing the text to work toward becoming strategic and successful readers. Students express their ideas and findings creatively through writing and multimedia projects and presentations. Students will learn how to navigate a library and digital resources to find relevant resources and reading material.
