Pre-calculus

Pre-calculus ties together the fundamental concepts of algebra, trigonometry, and analytic geometry and is preparation for studying calculus. Problem solving is emphasized in this course. A focus on a balance among the algebraic, numerical, graphical, and verbal methods of representing problems is key. Students will explore the value of each of these methods of representation and must learn to choose the one most appropriate for solving the particular problem. This class is a preparation for studying higher levels of math, especially at the college level. Major topics include linear/quadratic functions, polynomial functions, inequalities, functions, logarithmic and exponential functions, analytic geometry, sequences and series, data analysis, mathematical reasoning and problem solving.
