Studio Arts II

The purpose of Studio Arts II is to expose and educate students in a variety of areas within fine visual arts. Students will gain a greater understanding of the elements and principles of art and at the same time find their artistic style. They will apply these aesthetic principles and vocabulary to the creation and discussion of art. Students will create, design, and draw artwork using a variety of mediums including but not limited to pencil, ink, colored pencil, markers, paint, and charcoal. Students will have the opportunity to apply these mediums to projects such as still-life drawings, self-portraits, pop-art design, and mixed media. Students wishing to pursue art in college will leave this class with pieces to include in a portfolio.
